Lymph Drainage
What is Lymph Drainage?
This is the system that fulfils all the functions of the immune system, defence and lymphatic fluid in the body.
Lymph Drainage Application
Lymph is also known as fluid. It is a colourless fluid that flows into the blood vessels through a network of veins, maintaining the body’s fluid balance and cleansing the tissues of bacteria and foreign cells. The pressure in the lymphatic vessels is lower than in the blood vessels and the lymph fluid flows more slowly than blood. Lymphatic drainage has no side effects.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage
This massage is applied with hands or a lymph drainage machine.
Hand Massage
The skin is first gently mobilised. This stimulates the lymphatic flow in the vessels. By pressing with the fingers in different places where the procedure is performed, the used lymph is removed and new lymph is formed, which accelerates the blood circulation in the area. The machine used for lymphatic drainage speeds up the circulation of the white fluid that nourishes the body’s cells, known as the lymphatic system. This device also has a positive effect on the muscular system.
How is lymph drainage performed?
The patient is dressed in thin socks and the lymphatic drainage device is activated by wrapping the legs and abdomen. The device provides lymphatic drainage by applying pressure from the fingertips upwards at regular intervals. The procedure is done 2 or 3 times a week. The session takes about 30 minutes.
What are the effects of lymph drainage?
Improvement in skin quality, circumferential thinning, tightening of the skin and under the skin in the treated area. Lymphatic drainage is also used for reasons other than cellulite. It helps to remove the oedema accumulated in the body and ensures the proper functioning of the immune system and some other organ systems. It is also used to remove varicose veins.
